Social Economy: Civil Guard contribution through his intellectual capital

The concept of social economy is promoted in Europe and consolidated in Spain thanks to the International Research and Information Center on Public, Social and Cooperative Economy. If we relate these terms: public, social, cooperativism and public economy it leads us to think of an organization that has aligned them in its strategy for more than 180 years of existence: the Institutional Corps of the Civil Guard, by converging economic and social practices in the provision of goods and services. However, no research, articles or projects have been found that address this. We propose to analyze the extent to which their solidarity and humanitarian actions generate economic-social value through the dimensions that make up their Intellectual Capital (IC). The methodology used is based on the content analysis of the information disclosed in your IC. It is a longitudinal analysis that covers the period 2014-2023, using the Intellectus model with wide national and international impact. The results show that their actions are aimed at both the security and protection of citizens, are socially responsible, and protect the environment and biodiversity. We opened a line of research on security bodies and sustainability, since the commitment to the 2030 Agenda begins by focusing on people and society as an asset of sustainable innovation. We can say that the mission of the Civil Guard is not based only on security but also on economic and social growth through the dynamism of the IC dimensions.
